Two updates in close proximity o_O Is the world coming to an end? Actually for me it kinda is... at least a little. Got a few sketches done while I was on the plane traveling back and forth. Also got the rest of my codeing done, I am hoping to have the new site launched in time for the turn of the new year. Also coming up is my move back to San Jose for good 'cause I am done with school!! On my last week, the crunch and testing side of the run. This is the final boss, everything is loot from here! This month will be devoted to getting things set up and the move... I'll be driving a log way just before christmas so I might post some photos instead of sketches, who knows *grins*
On another note I met a few interesting people over the last few weeks, the first bunch being a few really awesome guys in the like for Cata. They made the hour or so line go by in a flash ^-^~ Also my seat-mate on the flight up to Sacramento was pretty cool to chat with too! (Oh man, that was such a chaotic mess >_< The flight had been to San Jose but all planes were delayed for so long that I had to hop on one to Sacramento and meet Solemn up there instead! I still got to my concert though which was -awesome-) I love meeting peoples when they are nifty like that *chuckles*

No entries so far this month. Cataclysm has hit the world of Azeroth; Deathwing destroying everything in his wake. I have focused my energies to leveling my 80's to get them to 85 and then playing around on my little ones. I haven't even had time for much RP so far >_< I do have a few sketches planned, it's just finding the time to actually get them done. I've been working on the codeing to the new pages of the site and make it compatable to a comic format. I'm pretty excited about the plans for the next few months. This month I'm thinking will be revolving around my character sketches for the profiles so I can have that part set up and ready. Any ideas for a title?
In the real world, I graduate from my apprenticship on the 22nd Dec and will officially become a journeyman, yay for me!! For an early graduation present I'll be seeing Secondhand Serenade in concert and I'll actually be able to go back stage and see him in person *dances* Both ShS and Snow Patrol are the key artists who fuled a lot of the plot bunnies of yore and ShS was a huuuuuge factor in most of the Rynn/Zev story. I'll be chufed to bits if I was able to hear "Twist in my story" live. I get a few moments of fan-girling, this will be one of them.

So you may have been wondering where I have been. Other than getting a new laptop, loosing the coding to my site (luckily finding it saved on a flash drive) and random general mayhem, I decided to try my hand at NaNoWriMo (National November Writers Month) My count at the time of this little post is past the 30k mark... I however have ran out of material that I was going to write about so the last few days have been much slower in the wordage department. On the other hand, we are all getting ready for the Cata release. Prepping characters, saving names, starting up plotlines. Colleen is going to officially be a worgen and Evelynn finally gets to show her face. I'm pretty excited that I get to continue some of the stories and breed some more plot bunnies *grins*
Of course November wouldn't be complete without Turkey Day. My sister is coming all the way from the other coast as well as Solemn is coming down from NorCal. It's going to be a full house at my parents and I couldn't be more excited! My sister is pretty big now and already the little parasite is moving and shaking. Being able to feel the baby move is quite a trip! Though I don't think I'll be ready to have children any time soon, it is rather fantastic to be able to welcome in the new generation into the world.

The code has all been fixed and I'm in the process of re-designing the main pages so you can easily travel from one to the next. I'll have that fully implemented in November and might back it through Oct if I feel up to it. I'm quite pleased with myself, it's almost the end of the year and I've kept up with the sketches. While it hasn't been one sketch a day there has been enough that improvement is definitely there. My computer work has gotten better, inking and colouring stuff. I'm slowly working on a colouring style that I can easily replicate. What is awesome is a friend of mine might be working with me to get a viable comic out! I
will be working on some back stock of that before I end up posting them but still, there is many things in the works.
In other news I am now a soquili familiar colourist. I have been slacking in the colouring department so this may be a way for me to get back into the swing of things *grins* Solemn's birthday was pretty awesome and the Switchfoot concert was -fantastic- including meeting the band! They really appreciated my work that was inspired by them so it was pretty awesome to let them know their work helped add to the storylines I've been working on with Zev, Trist and Co. On that front RP's have been continueing strong. I hope to have some more chapters posted, might actually re-write some of them and start posting them up here, we shall see...

Had a bit of an issue with the back codeing for the site... when I start up a new month I currently have to go through all my pages and update links and the like. Trying out something new to see if it makes my life easier *crosses fingers* This is also why it's taken me so darn long to update. On the other hand I have been drawing a lot since I got back to work as I usually sketch during lunch. The good side: new art! The bad: non of it is coloured. I might go through and fix this with my favorites like I did before but we'll see if I actually get around to it. On the other hand I have been RPing a -ton- Colleen met a guy named Trist and him and I have been plotting many storylines and even created a new RP guild! Well, it's actually his old guild from EQ but now Askarel gets to be one of the councellors. It's going to be a lot of fun when we get established.
I had a chance to go to Six Flags and see Solemn which was really nice. What is even more fun is I see him again next weekend for his birthday as well as the following week as I have an interview! I'll be flying back and forth quite a bit in the next week or so. Right after I get back from Sunnyvale I'll be trolling around at faire! I'm gonna be one tired troll coming into November *dies*

Uploaded a bunch more of the Soquili contest pieces. I even won a prize for one of them! I'm now back down in San Diego for the next few months. Fox was gracious enough to let me sleep on his couch so I have a nice little area set up with my computer. Back at work which is -fantastic- It's an odd shift 'cause it'se from 2pm-11pm but I'm quite enjoying it as I get to stay up late and hang out with friends. This has also opened up new RP's as Zev met a few new people on SilverHand and I've joined in their little guild. While Crys and Peikko are still there for raiding purposes (something I don't get to to much anymore as I work during raid times) I now have Colleen, worgen rogue, Sarynae, nightelf priest and Ysiel, nightelf druid. I have plans for Crys if I decide to turn her into a dwarf shaman come Cata as Zev was considering making a dwarf shaman too and they could be siblings! Many many plans and RP plots in the making makes for a very happy Troll.
I'm missing San Fran quite a bit. Little Peikko has been listening to me when Solemn and I chat on the phone. She has gnawed the phone a few times but so far hasn't connected that it's me. She's been very loving since I left, probably as she is left alone for most of the day while Solemn is at work. I can't wait to go back up there to see them, it's been kinda lonely down here. In the mean time, however, I am hoping to decide on an update schedual. Maybe every friday or saterday... I do find it easiest to update on a schoolnight as I work on the codeing during class so it might be a wednesday for the 'official' date.

Updated the sketches, I'm pretty pleased with the work I did over the month of august. There was a contest at the Soquili shop of Gaia Online and so I spent much of the month in front of my computer sketching, inking and colouring bunches of chibi. I've posted up a few of my favorites and have a few more saved for this month. On another turn of events I'm going back down to San Diego for four months to finish my last semester of schooling. After which I'll be free and clear and a full journeyman! Looking forward to being able to come back to San Jose in Jan. The good side about going back to work is that I'll have plenty of sketching time during lunch. So while I'll probably not have too many inked/coloured submissions, I'm hoping to increase my pencil work and start updating this site in a timely fashion.

Site is pretty much completely up and running smoothly! I found an outside provider to establish the comments and transferring that capability to the sketch ages. As I do that I pulled the pages offline so I don't bug out the coding but I should have those back shortly. I'm pretty excited with this new look, it's much cleaner than what I had before with the Wordpress account. Little harder to update but there will be plenty of sketches coming 'cause I have been working on Soquili chibi. The main bulk of those have been inked between working on coding.
Peikko is being especially loving right now as Matt and I were gone over the weekend for my 10 year reunion. There were a lot of people there I remembered and others who remembered me. It was a lot of fun and yet didn't feel much different from the older school functions. They even played the same music (yes, it was on purpose :p ) I spent most of the time chatting with Jen and Ivy but I did get to see a few other good friends. Yay for memories!

After a lot of searching around I am really liking this new look. I'm slowly moving all my old submissions to the new system but it definitely has a larger versatility. Yay for templates that actually work in html. It's kinda nice to be coding in wordpad again. Of course now I need to learn a whole new language 'cause this site is primarily CSS which hopefully will give me the capacity to have comments on the site (the primary reason for the re-coding anyways) A lot of features don't work right now but hopefully I'll get them completed soon!
The kitten is doing well. Little Peikko has decided to become a more permanent partner in this by becoming my coach. She has decided that, to stop me getting up every 15 minutes or so, she will sit on my lap. While this is great for productivity it has made it a little harder to sketch x_X At 5lbs, she is growing up to be quite the ball of fluff and claws. I guess I have to be glad she is being nice to me.

I have tried a few different Wordpress templates but most of the offerings have so much more that I don't really need. Gone are the days you could pick and choose what you'd like and keep it simple. Most of the templates include things like calendars and RSS and other updating options. While those are cool, I still haven't decided upon a schedule for this site and, if last year was any indication, it is doubtful I'd stick to it :p I did get a lot of the beta work done however, I may group them all up and post them as I'm quite happy with the way they turned out. The next big project will be the Soquili birthday event, there have been a lot of submissions and I'm planning on sketching/colouring them all!
Peikko went in to have her shots and is still not acceptable of other cats. She now plays fetch with a plastic fork. I guess it is much easier to hold in her mouth than the little stuffed fish she usually plays fetch with 'cause she plays for much longer with the fork before getting bored. Been trying to snag some footage but it's kinda hard when throwing a fork as well as filming. I think I need a tripod >_>

While I have been working on sketches and such, the site has bee hard to keep updated. I've decided to re-work it and adopted a Wordpress template to use that will mean I do not have to spend so much time coding and can instead work on the sketches more. That and it'd be pretty awesome is I could have comments on the site or ways to track how many people visit ect. Little motivation is always good. So thus the new site look! There are a bunch of things I want to tweek but lets see if I can get it to work right...
I have adopted a little kitten! She was found on the street by my sister's friend and I happened to be at home when he turned up with her. She is adorable and needed a home and I couldn't resist! Thus little Peikko has joined my life with a calico flair *grins* She is pretty smart and, though she mostly spends her time sleeping, she is quite a ball of energy.

Heya! This is Rynn here… So at the beginning of 2009 I decided that to work on my chibi sketches and actually attempt to improve I would draw at least one chibi a day for the entire year. Now this daunting proposition is something I promised myself but at the same time I figured, why not show them online and who knows, maybe people will start badgering me to continue and to make sure I don’t slack… So thus Vixenarts was born. Over the course of the year I kept up on my sketches with very much improved results. Now I have decided to take it a little step further. While still doing one sketch a day, I will take a few favorites, hopefully weekly, and ink/colour it onto the computer. With one coloured sketch a week I hope to improve on my computer inking skills and learn how to sketch that way.
My goal at the end of the year is to have a working comic!
